WPC QR Master (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides WhatsApp order button functionality (“the Service”) to merchants who use Shopify to power their online stores.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify store.
1. Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we may receive certain information from your Shopify account that is necessary to provide and operate the Service, including:
- Merchant information: Your Shopify store name, merchant name, email address, and other basic store/account information made available to the App.
- Store information: Information necessary to identify and configure the App for your Shopify store.
- Product information: Product information required to display and configure WhatsApp order buttons, such as product title, price, product URL, and related product information.
The App only requests and accesses information necessary to provide its functionality.
Customer Information
The App does not collect, store, or maintain customer personal information from your Shopify store for its own databases.
When a customer clicks a WhatsApp order button, the App redirects the customer to WhatsApp with the relevant order/product information that has been configured for the button. The App does not operate or control the customer’s WhatsApp account or the customer’s communications within WhatsApp.
Information sent through WhatsApp is subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy and terms of service.
2. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we may collect limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This may include:
- IP address;
- Browser type and version;
- Device type;
- Operating system;
- Date and time of access;
- Basic diagnostic and log information.
We do not use this information to create profiles of your customers or to track customers across unrelated websites.

Shopify
The App operates in connection with Shopify and may access information through Shopify’s APIs as permitted by Shopify’s platform requirements.
The primary purpose of the App is to redirect customers to WhatsApp when they click a WhatsApp order button. The App does not store the customer’s WhatsApp conversations.
Once a customer is redirected to WhatsApp, any information exchanged through WhatsApp is handled by WhatsApp and is subject to WhatsApp’s applicable policies.
We may also disclose information if reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes;
- Respond to lawful requests from government authorities;
- Protect our rights, property, or safety;
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
6. Data Retention
We retain merchant information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the App and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Because the App does not maintain a database of customer personal information, we do not retain customer information for our own purposes after the customer is redirected to WhatsApp.
When you uninstall the App, we will delete or anonymize information associated with your store where reasonably necessary and subject to legitimate legal, security, or operational requirements.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
